The work Groundwork does –
to connect people with economic opportunity, to take more control over their household bills, to bring people together to look after the spaces that matter to them and to support the resilience of local communities and local businesses – has become more and more relevant through the phases of recession, austerity, Brexit and uncertainty. In recent times Groundwork East has expanded its range of services and geographic
area of coverage in response to this demand.
Nationally, Groundwork continues to focus on
three core areas of activity:
One of Groundwork’s key strengths is an ability to tailor and adapt delivery across the UK and indeed across the east of England depending on the priority local needs. This publication sets out highlights of projects delivered in 2016, illustrating the impact we have made by changing places and changing lives throughout Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Suffolk and Norfolk. You will see in all of these examples that Groundwork always seeks to achieve multiple, positive results from a single investment.
We would like to thank all of our partners, funders, stakeholders, Directors, members of our Advisory Panels, volunteers, and our outstanding staff
team for all they do to make such a significant, positive and lasting impact within the communities we serve.
Special thanks to the audit and business advisory firm Mazars for the kind sponsorship of this publication.
